Why do you want me to include a ReadMe file?
The main reason is for us to know what information about your application you want published.
There is just not enough time for us to write review for all entries.
ReadMe files are not needed for Essay entries.

What copyright information do I need to include?
A simple REM statement stating that the code is original to you and released as Open Source.
As an example, there is a nifty little copyright notice in Freeform's bas file.
It's the first thing you see when you open the file.
If you're interested in a more elaborate license and copyright statement for Open Source releases many great examples can be found at Open Source License
You might want to also check out Copyright Basics at the US Copyright Office.

Can I update my entry?
Yes. You are allowed to update your entry but it is not recommended.
Most people will download the first version you post but might not download your update. These folks will judge your app by the first release.
I would be careful to upload your entry only after finished and tested thouroughly.

What is the essay?
The essay section gives everyone a chance to collect a prize.
Your essay might be as you were telling a friend about LB.
Be truthful. Your essay might be published in Libby's About file.
There are a lot of, dare I say mature, programmers who will be voting.
Spelling and grammar will effect votes.

I have entered a program in another contest. Can I enter the same program in the Libby Contest?
Yes Entries for the Libby contest do not have to be new and it does not matter if they were entered in a previous contest.
They do have to be entered by the original author and be released as open source.
Those who feel that they do not have the programming skills to compete are encouraged to write an essay entry. Again, the essays must be released for publication by the original author.
